6 Best Hotels Near Beijing Capital Airport (PEK) for a Late-Night Arrival

If your international flight lands at Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) late at night, I would not rush straight into central Beijing.

The airport is quite far from the main sightseeing areas. Even during the day, the drive can take around 40–60 minutes. By late evening, the Airport Express has stopped running and most airport buses have finished for the night, leaving taxis and ride-hailing as the main options.

After a long international flight, I would rather sleep near the airport and head into Beijing the next morning.

This makes even more sense if you arrive after midnight, have several large suitcases, or are traveling with children or older family members. Instead of spending another ¥150–180 on a late-night taxi into the city, you can shower, sleep, recover from jet lag, and start Beijing properly the next day.

There are plenty of airport hotels around PEK, from simple rooms in the ¥200 range to five-star hotels overlooking the runway.

These are the six I would consider first.

If Beijing is your first stop in China, my Beijing travel guide covers where to stay, what to prioritize, and the practical things to know before exploring the city.

Why I Would Stay Near PEK After a Late-Night Flight

Beijing Capital Airport is around 25–30 km from many of the central areas where first-time visitors stay.

The Airport Express stops running at around 11 p.m., and most regular airport buses also finish around that time. Taxis still operate 24 hours, but fares increase between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. A late-night ride to areas such as Wangfujing or Tiananmen can cost around ¥150–180.

The bigger issue, however, is that international arrival times are unpredictable.

A flight may land on time, but immigration, baggage claim, and inspections can easily push your actual airport exit much later than expected. A scheduled 10 p.m. arrival can become a midnight hotel check-in surprisingly quickly.

For that reason, I see the first airport night as a buffer night rather than a wasted night.

Sleep properly, deal with jet lag, and take the Airport Express or metro into Beijing the next morning. For most travelers, that is much easier than dragging suitcases across the city immediately after a long-haul flight.

The next morning, see my Beijing Capital Airport to the city center guide for the easiest way into central Beijing.

1. Beijing Aulympic Airportel: Best Budget Airport Hotel

Beijing Aulympic Airportel

Distance: Around 4.4 km from T2 and 4.1 km from T3
Price: Around ¥260–380 per night
Best for: Backpackers, budget travelers, one-night stopovers

Beijing Aulympic Airportel is not somewhere I would book for stylish interiors or a memorable hotel experience.

Its value is much simpler: it is inexpensive and the airport transfer is useful.

The hotel offers free 24-hour transfers for T2 and T3, including arrivals in the middle of the night. After collecting your luggage, contact the hotel to arrange pickup. Waiting times are usually around 8–10 minutes during quieter periods and can exceed 15 minutes when several flights arrive together.

The rooms are older and basic, but the beds, hot water, and general cleanliness are reasonably consistent. There is also self-service laundry and drying, which can be particularly useful after a long international trip.

The main downside is soundproofing. Aircraft noise is reasonably controlled with the windows closed, but hallway conversations and plumbing can still be noticeable.

Breakfast costs around ¥20 and is mainly Chinese-style—congee, steamed buns, eggs, and simple sides—with limited Western choices.

If I were only staying from 2 a.m. until breakfast, I would not overthink it. You are paying for three things here: a bed, a shower, and someone to pick you up from the airport.

2. TRUE GO Hotel Beijing Capital Airport: Best for a Better Night’s Sleep

TRUE GO Hotel Beijing Capital Airport

Distance: Around 8–11 minutes by car from T2/T3
Price: Around ¥320–430 per night
Best for: Couples, younger travelers, light sleepers

If I could stretch the budget from the ¥200 range to around ¥300–400, I would be more tempted by TRUE GO Hotel.

It also provides free 24-hour transfers for T2, and T3, although the shuttle follows more fixed departure times and should be reserved in advance. During busy arrival periods, waits can reach around 15–20 minutes.

Where it clearly beats the cheapest airport hotels is the room itself.

Rooms have electric curtains, smart lighting, separate wet and dry bathroom areas, and double-glazed windows that do a much better job of reducing aircraft noise.

There is also complimentary late-night congee, bread, and snacks, while breakfast includes both Chinese and Western choices such as croissants, coffee, and eggs.

Basic rooms are not huge, though. Opening two 28-inch suitcases at the same time can make the room feel cramped, and prices can rise sharply during major exhibitions at the nearby China International Exhibition Center.

If sleeping well matters more to you than getting the absolute lowest price, this is the budget upgrade I would make.

3. Hilton Beijing Capital Airport: Best for Families and Business Travelers

Hilton Beijing Capital Airport

Distance: Around 0.5 km from T3
Price: Around ¥720–1,080 per night
Best for: Families, business travelers, higher budgets

The biggest advantage of the Hilton is not simply that it is a five-star hotel.

It is extremely convenient for Terminal 3.

The T3 shuttle runs approximately every 20 minutes, while T2 services run around every 30 minutes. They operate 24 hours and do not require advance booking.

That kind of predictability matters when you land after midnight with children, older parents, or several heavy suitcases.

Rooms are noticeably larger than those at most mid-range airport hotels, and double-glazed windows help keep aircraft noise low. The hotel also has an indoor heated pool, gym, spa, several restaurants, and a much broader Western breakfast selection.

English, Japanese, and Korean assistance is available at the front desk, and currency exchange is also offered.

For a solo traveler sleeping for only six or seven hours, paying ¥700–1,000+ may feel unnecessary. Some rooms also show small signs of age.

But if I were traveling with my parents, children, or had an important business meeting the next morning, Hilton would be near the top of my list.

4. JI Hotel Beijing Capital Airport T2: Best Hotel for Terminal 2

JI Hotel Beijing Capital Airport T2

Location: Inside Terminal 2, basement level
Price: Around ¥360–490 per night
Best for: T2 passengers, older travelers, short stopovers

If your flight arrives at or departs from Terminal 2, this is probably the easiest decision on the list.

JI Hotel is located inside T2 itself. After arriving, you can walk to the hotel in roughly 2–5 minutes.

There is no shuttle to wait for and no need to go outside with your luggage. If you have an early departure the next morning, simply walk back into the check-in area.

Rooms have the clean, simple wooden design typical of the JI Hotel chain, and the standardized bedding and housekeeping make it a fairly predictable choice. Earplugs are provided, and soundproofing is good enough for most one-night stays.

The hotel is very much about convenience, though.

There is no laundry room, pool, or gym, and breakfast is limited to simple items such as bread and milk.

More importantly, I would not choose it for a T3 flight. You would need to transfer between terminals or take a car, which removes the main reason to stay here.

For T2 passengers, I strongly recommend it. For T3 passengers, I would look elsewhere.

5. Fairfield by Marriott Beijing Capital Airport: Best Mid-Range International Chain

Distance: Around 3.2 km from T3
Price: Around ¥420–550 per night
Best for: International travelers, business guests, Marriott members

If you normally stay with Marriott and want familiar international-chain standards without paying Hilton or Cordis prices, Fairfield is an easy middle ground.

The hotel provides free 24-hour transfers to T2 and T3, although you should contact the hotel at least two hours in advance. Shuttles generally operate on fixed hourly schedules, so it is less flexible for an unexpected middle-of-the-night arrival.

The hotel itself is more appealing.

Rooms have plenty of storage and are easier to manage with large suitcases. There is also a 24-hour gym plus complimentary self-service washers and dryers—two facilities I find particularly useful after long-distance travel.

Breakfast leans more toward Continental and Western options but still includes a few Chinese dishes. Travelers catching an early flight can also request a takeaway breakfast.

The main weakness is location. There are not many substantial late-night dining options within walking distance, so you may need to travel toward Shine Hills for a wider choice.

If you want a recognizable international brand at a reasonable airport-hotel price, Fairfield is probably the most balanced option here.

6. Cordis Beijing Capital Airport: Best for Runway Views

Cordis Beijing Capital Airport

Distance: Around 500 meters from T3
Price: Around ¥820–1,180; runway rooms around ¥1,100–1,400
Best for: Aviation enthusiasts, couples, higher-end stays

Cordis feels different from a normal “sleep near the airport” hotel.

If all you need is six hours in bed, it is expensive.

But if you love aviation—or want your first night in Beijing to feel like part of the trip rather than simply a stopover—it becomes much more interesting.

The hotel is close enough to T3 to walk in around 8–10 minutes, and there is also a free 24-hour shuttle approximately every 20 minutes with no reservation required.

The rooms worth paying extra for are the runway-view rooms.

Large windows face the airport runways, while triple-glazed glass helps reduce aircraft noise. You can watch planes arriving and departing without spending the whole night listening to them.

Cordis also has an indoor pool, 24-hour gym, sauna, and several restaurants, making it much more of a full-service stay than a basic airport hotel.

The main catch is Terminal 2. There is normally no regular direct T2 shuttle, so T2 passengers may need to transfer through T3.

And do not assume every room has runway views—the cheaper standard rooms generally do not.

If I were an aviation enthusiast, I would choose Cordis immediately. For an ordinary overnight connection, I would save the money.

Which Beijing Capital Airport Hotel Would I Choose?

For a simple overnight stay before heading into Beijing the next morning, I would not automatically pay for five-star luxury.

Ready to start sightseeing? My 3-day Beijing itinerary shows how I would organize a first visit without rushing across the city.

If keeping costs low matters most, Beijing Aulympic Airportel does the job.

If I wanted a quieter, more comfortable room without spending much more, I would choose TRUE GO Hotel.

For a flight using Terminal 2, JI Hotel T2 is easily the most convenient because there is no airport transfer at all.

Travelers who prefer an international chain should look at Fairfield by Marriott, while families and business travelers who prioritize convenience and full hotel facilities will probably be happier at Hilton Beijing Capital Airport.

Cordis is the special-case choice. I would book it for the runway experience, not simply because I needed somewhere to sleep.

For me, the least appealing option after a late-night arrival is forcing myself into central Beijing just because I feel that the “first night has to be downtown.”

Sleep near the airport, recover properly, and start Beijing the next morning.

Your first full day in the city will probably be much better for it.
